The Free Attic Check Comes First
Before any price, one of us climbs into your attic with a flashlight, a tape and a camera. We measure the depth of the old insulation in several places, check the soffit vents, look for frost or stains on the roof boards and note every air leak we can find. You get the photos along with a written quote.
That visit usually takes about forty-five minutes. If the attic does not need work, we will tell you so.
Depth Rulers Go In Before The Hose Does
On install day, we staple depth rulers to the trusses across the attic floor, from the hatch to the far corners. Insulation is blown in until every ruler reads the target. It is a simple habit, and it is the reason the far corners of an attic get the same depth as the area near the hatch.
When we finish, we photograph the rulers and write the reading and the R-value on the invoice.
Sealing And Venting Are Part Of The Job
Insulation works best in an attic that is sealed from the house below and vented to the outside above. That is why our quotes usually include attic air sealing and baffles at the eaves. They take extra time, and they are what keep the roof boards cold, dry and free of ice in a Barrie winter.
Your House Stays Clean
The blowing and removal machines stay outside in the truck. Inside, we lay floor runners from the entry to the hatch, cover the furniture under it and seal the hatch opening with plastic. When we leave, we vacuum the path we used.
Homes, Rentals And Small Buildings
Most of our work is in single-family homes, from older houses near Allandale to newer subdivisions in Painswick, Holly and Ardagh. We also insulate rental houses, townhouses and small commercial buildings with attic space. Every job gets the same measured approach and the same written quote.
